Left untreated, hard floor surfaces are porous to varying degrees depending on product density (compactness), making them susceptible to various stains. The products are also prone to surface wear and erosion, depending on traffic and exposure to the elements. This is true of cement-based products such as paving and cast / simulated stone, as well as natural stone and clay-based products.

Sealing presents many benefits, including:

• Protection from abrasion (dusting and breakdown)
• Protection from the sun UV damage (some sealants)
• Enhancement of colour (varies between sealants)

The treatments we offer are regular cleaning, deep cleaning, and sealing for different types of paving, natural stone, cast stone, clay and terracotta products. We also do sealant stripping, management of stains and restoration of old floors where possible.

With the many different types of sealants and hard floors, it's imperative that the correct sealant is applied to the correct surface for the correct purpose.

Sometimes damage to a floor can be so severe that repair or restoration is not possible. Once this stage is reached the only real option is replacement of part or all of the floor, assuming that one is even able to find replacement product. Replacement is an exercise that can be costly in many ways. This further highlights the importance of having a protection and maintenance plan upfront.
